Dears,

please help in the matter of running .NET 4 app (basic vb.net app on .net framework 4 base);

When I try to run an basic application on the WinPE 4 image runninng, I get the error message «This application could not be started. You must enable the .NET Framework
from the Windows Features dialog box (from Control Panel, choose Programs, Turn Windows features on or off).» even if I have enabled all the features from DISM when deploying the WinPE 4 wim image (all the features present from the dism /get-features
by dism /enable-feature to switch the states from «Enable Pending» to «Enabled» incl.
the WinPE-NetFx4 package) I am not able to run the app.

Please help how to get the app run or when needed any further info about the image.

I am trying to install one program named TecDoc Catalog.
I am using Lubuntu 17.10 whit installed 32 bit Wine, winetricks and configured wineprefix(installed dotnet452).

When i try to run the Install.exe whit Wine it shows this error:

This application could not be started. You must enable the .NET
Framework from Windows Features dialog box (from Control Panel, choose
Programs, Turn Windows features on or off).

Do you want to view information about this issue?

In terminal the error looks like this:

fixme:ntdll:WinSqmIsOptedIn (): stub
wine: cannot find L"C:\\windows\\system32\\fondue.exe"

I have installed .net framework(dotnet452), i’m asking how to enable it?
Please tell me how to do it by terminal.

tip: Before install dotnet452 the error was «This app require installed .net framework…» Now i need to enable it somehow.

Hey, so I’m having an issue installing Adobe Photoshop Lightroom V3.3 on my Gateway NV-52 laptop. Every time I try to install it, it throws me an error code. To be specific, the error code is «Error 1935», which, after looking up is a .NET Framework issue.
So, to try and play detective as best I could I went searching for an answer. I decided that it was finally time to OKAY those pesky Windows automatic updates that I’ve always been ignoring. Awesome! A lot of stuff is working better, but still the same error
code. So I continue looking and look in my Windows Update history log and see that almost all of my .NET Framework updates have failed. Seeing this, I immediately go online to download 3.5.1 or higher. After doing so and starting the install, it tells me that
I must enable .NET Framework in the «Turn Windows Features On or Off» dialog box, but nothing shows. All it shows for me is «Games», «Internet Information Services», «Media Features», «MSMQ», «Print and Document Services», and «Windows Process Activation Service».
Absolutely no dialog box for .NET Framework.

So now I’m sort of confused. I’ve gone as far as I can playing detective with no avail, and it’s time to put my ego aside and ask for help from a public community.

For what it’s worth my computer specs are listed below:

Gateway NV-52 Laptop

AMD Athalon 64 X2 QL-64

320GB HDD

4GB Memory

ATI Radeon graphics card (not sure what exact model the card is)

Was originally a Windows Vista machine, but I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium SP1

Cliff notes for the lazy reader:

1. .NET Framework doesn’t show in dialog box.

2. .NET Framwork windows updates have failed.

3. Can’t install .NET Framework.

4. .NET Framework will be the death of me!

Hi Monkeezilla,

Like pvdg42 said, in Windows 7 system, you should find the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 under
Control Panel\Programs\Turn Windows Features on or off. Just like the image below shows:

If you even could not find this, I think a system resotre should take place.

If you can find it, try to unselect the checkbox of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1, click OK. Then open the Turn Windows Features on or off again, select the .NET Framework 3.5.1, click OK. This should repair the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in your system automatically.

If you really do not see the entry Andrew circled in red in your Turn Windows Features On or Off dialog, I agree with him that you should do a system restore, or as you say, totally reinstall your OS.
