This isn’t the official Watercolor theme, this is only fan made and could have potential usability issues. Haven’t used it myself, however.

Yeah, I know. That’s why I said «conversion». To be honest that Author of this Theme done a great job of it. Try copying the Watercolor Theme from Windows Whistler to your current Operating System, might or might not work.

Corpse, I’m positive you have to copy UXTHEME.DLL from the beta to the target system in order for it to work.

That won’t work, the target system will reject it.

I seriously doubt you’re able to apply Windows 7 visual styles to Windows XP. The way visual styles are setup are 100% different.

Wow, you can just simply copy an 11 year old (or so) Windows Theme from Windows Whistler & paste it in Windows 7 (using USB)? Windows Whistler is about 11/10/9 years old & Windows 7 is just barely a year old. It’s called compatibility Issues. By the way, I don’t have Windows Whistler. Download it, trust me you’ll like it, but you might not like the Sound Effects.

no you can not
neither you can not do same to XP
3 reasons
1. the file extension and its code is not same as .msstyle
2. the files (resources) are not structured the same as in XP or 7
3. the file names (resource names) are differently named
maybe it was leaves…

Yeah I know that. But a Person who posted earlier said you can simply copy & paste it. Not me. That was a Question. Read the full Post I made.

Trust me I’d love to show a picture you but I just formatted a week ago with the Horizon (thats what I tested it with) on my computer BUT i do have the file (theme) to prove it!!! You need TuneUp and you open the file using the ThemeUpload.
Click the link below to look at the pictures of what I did and see how many XP features are in it. I WAS USING XP THE WHOLE TIME I WAS JUST CHANGING THE LOOK AND FEEL AND PROGRAMS!!

Yeah, like I said before, that’s just a fan made Windows XP visual style designed to look like Windows 7. That’s a theme fully designed for XP.

Oh ok. Sorry I was mislead by your comment! It actually works very well though, but I wonder if you could use it for themes with TuneUp for 7. Maybe I’ll test it later.

When I used the Windows Vista Theme for Windows XP on my old PC (this was before I had any new PC or any new Operating System) it messed up the PC heaps.

windows-whistler’s Issues
[WATERCOLOR] Visuals and Issues With Misc.
@Elbullazul I’ve decided to start this in order to donate some help with the Cinnamon and Metacity of Whistler, and also to then be able to help out on the Visuals of Watercolor:
Firstly, I’ll drop a link to a video by Windows On Windows about one of the main Whistler builds pre-Luna so you can get a taste of the colour scheme, etc of Watercolor:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDwfm4tfkAY
Secondly, there’s an issue with the screenshot of Watercolor on your site, it’s the wrong version! Here’s what the correct one looks like:
http://www.intelliadmin.com/images/WaterColor_Large.jpg
Doesn’t work on GTK 3.20 systems
Can go into more detail if necessary but many many things are broken due to the theming changes in the new GTK release.
