Windows server 2012 r2 обновление rdp

I am experiencing some performance issues using Remote Desktop Gateway through the Azure AD proxy. I think it may be because our RDG server is running RDP version 8.5. Using RDP version 10.5 from a windows 10 pc works fine. I have not been able to find a download or update for the 2012 R2 Client. It may not be possible and I may need to build a 2016 RDG/RDWeb server in order to use RDP 10.5. I would love it if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

  • I have a complex routing scheme that seems to only work with Windows 10 and Windows 2016. I have narrowed down the problem to RDP protocol version 10. I can get it working with version 10 but version 8.1 does not work.  How do I upgrade Windows 2012r2
    to have RDP protocol version 10.x

    Unfortunately there is no ability to upgrade Windows Server 2012 R2 to support incoming RDP 10.x connections.

  • I have one last question.  Is it possible to downgrade RDP protocol in Windows 10 to version 8.0 or 8.1?  This would help document our inability to connect is based purely on the RDP protocol version.

    Hi,

    There is no built-in option to downgrade to a lower version.  When you connect from Windows 10 to an endpoint that only supports a lower RDP version, then the lower version is used.

    Now, you could simulate a lower version for regular full desktop connection by copying all the relevant files from an older OS version to a folder on Windows 10.  For example, mstsc.exe, mstscax.dll, related files in en-US subfolder,
    etc.  Keep in mind this is not exactly the same as running client on lower OS version since you are running it on Windows 10.

Задача: Ввиду того факта, что помимо Windows 7 есть уже Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016 то чтобы к ним подключаться через удаленный рабочий стол скорее всего необходимо иметь соответствующую версию приложения, а вот как проверить текущую и что нужно чтобы обновить. Вот об этом и пойдет речь в сегодняшней мини заметке.

В качестве примера буду использовать ось Windows 7 x86 Pro SP1

Узнать какая сейчас версия клиента RDP можно следующим образом:

Пуск — Все программы — Стандартные — Подключение к удаленному рабочему столу, затем правой кнопкой мыши щелкаем по верхней строке, как показано на скриншоте ниже и выбираем из списка «О программе»

Узнаем версию протокола RDP клиентаВот так информация которой я буду оперировать в дальнейшем:

  • Подключение к удаленному рабочему столу.
  • Версия оболочки 6.1.7601
  • Версия управляющего элемента: 6.1.7601
  • Поддерживается проверка подлинности на уровне сети.
  • Протокол удаленного рабочего стола 7.1

Информация о RDP версии протокола на Windows 7Чтобы использовать более новую версию, т. к. для установки 8.1 необходимо в системе наличие установленных пакетов обновления: под свою архитектуру, а после перезагрузиться.

  • Windows6.1-KB2574819-v2-x86.msu
  • Windows6.1-KB2830477-x86.msu
  • Windows6.1-KB2857650-x86.msu
  • Windows6.1-KB2913751-x86.msu

После проверяю, какая сейчас версия клиента подключения к удаленному рабочему столу. Действия аналогичны выше представленным, итого:

  • Подключение к удаленному рабочему столу.
  • Версия оболочки 6.3.9600
  • Версия управляющего элемента: 6.3.9600
  • Поддерживается проверка подлинности на уровне сети.
  • Протокол удаленного рабочего стола 8.1 поддерживается.

Проверка свойств файла mstsc.exe:

C:\Windows\system32>wmic datafile where name=«C:\\windows\\system32\\mstsc.exe» get manufacturer, name, version

Manufacturer Name Version

Microsoft Corporation c:\windows\system32\mstsc.exe 6.3.9600.16415

По сути получается, что просто установив обновления мы можем обновить версию клиента RDP что не может ни радовать.
