Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer controls each application’s volume separately and tries to equalize peak levels of each app to your preferred level.
Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer can be installed or used as a portable app. After installation, you’ll find Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer in your system tray. Be sure to look for ‘RunAtWindowsStartup’ under the config section.
Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer can be a bit intimidating to those who aren’t audiophiles; however, a few settings should get you on your way.
There are three tabs to look at; View, Config, and Log.
Under the view tab, you can find Base, Master, System Sound, and a few additional settings. Our best guess is to set the Master target volume and Base volumes in the main window or the View tab.
Under the Config tab, there are about fifteen settings and a graph that can be very useful. You can set the UI Updates, GC Interval, Kurtosis (yeah, we had to look that one up), Priority, and more. If you’ve lost track of your settings, you can reset to default here as well.
Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer is an excellent idea. We’d love to see some mouseover tips or help to explain what some things do.

Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer
Wale calculates appropriate volume of each app in real time from app’s average peak level and try to equalize peak levels of each app to desired level. You can configure several parameters such as action timing, period of average, volume recovery function, target peak level, and so on.

Before use
First
If you just want to control every apps manually, I recommend EarTrumpet which is much more stable, fancy, and easy to use. I also using it more than several years. You can download it on Microsoft store.
The purpose of Wale is automatic control of system wide sound output.
Second
If your sound card driver provides ‘Loudness Equalization‘ or its equivalent, please use it. Your driver is also much more reliable and easy to use. Many sound drivers support this feature these days. Most of them can be accessed by following way.
- Open Sound setting panel. Fastest way is Run(Win+R)
control mmsys.cpl sounds - Double click to open your playback device.
- Switch to Enhancements tab.
- Check Loudness Equalization.
Accessing method varies with sound card vendors. On-board sound card users also can use this feature same way.

What is Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer?
A free volume control and manipulation tool for desktop devices
Windows Audio Loudness Equalizer is a free tool that allows you to control the volume of individual applications on your desktop device. It is known as the Wale volume control tool and allows you to set volume levels and audio settings for apps that wouldn’t normally have them.
It allows you to set some apps as silent by default in the same way that Letasoft Sound Booster does. It allows you to affect things like the bass, treble, softness of the sound some apps create, similar to how Equalizer APO works. You choose what this volume control tool makes loud and what it mutes.
Does this override game settings?
This tool applies sound control after the original program. For example, if you turn down the volume all the way on your game, you can’t increase the volume using this tool. If you turn your game volume to full, however, it is possible to make it even louder with this app.
Is this a testing tool?
Though it wasn’t built for testing, it does output enough information to make it useful to testers. Sound engineers and editors will understand the esoteric terms and data that it outputs, but most of the data it creates will baffle people.
Not a user friendly program
Despite the fact that this free volume control app does a good job at controlling system sounds, its user interface, instructions, and the overall aesthetic are not user-friendly. Almost no GUI aesthetic design has been applied, making this look more like an industrial utility program.
Lacking in features and tools
Considering the strength of competition that this equalizer app has to compete with, it is unfortunate they didn’t offer more features and tools. Perhaps analysis panels, resource management, and peak volume-limiting that allows music to be played loud, but has system sounds like notifications come in much more quietly.
