Windows Fouda XP 2012 (also known as Windows Abo Fouda XP SP3) is a bootleg Windows XP SP3 edition, which was created by Mahmoud Tarek Fouda. It released in December 2012, and was added to the archive on December 12, 2021.

Description

The bootleg is a modified Windows XP SP3 ISO with DriverPack integrated. It comes with many programs and themes. It has a new autorun, and a WPI. It is unattended and preactivated.

The ISO was made using nLite 1.4.9.1, and the autorun was made with AutoPlay Menu Builder 6.2.0.645.

Changes from Windows XP SP3

  • The setup OS text is changed
  • New boot screen
  • New setup graphics
  • New pre-OOBE graphics
  • The OOBE video is replaced with the Windows 7 boot screen
  • The OOBE is skipped
  • New login graphics
  • 16 new themes included
  • New default theme with its own icons, sounds, cursors and wallpapers
  • The icons are replaced with the Windows 7 ones
  • Many icons have been replaced
  • The sound scheme is a strange mix of stock sounds, and Windows 7 and 8 sounds. The Menu Command and Popup sounds are taken from Plus! 98, the startup and shutdown (along with logon and logoff) sounds are replaced with religious chanting, and the Question sound is a sound effect of a door being knocked on
  • Metro cursors are included. The arrow cursor is replaced
  • 583 new cursors are added to the OS, along with some other ones
  • New wallpaper set, which consists of Windows 8 wallpapers and a brand new wallpaper set as the default
  • The desktop context menu has been edited to include several extra entries, including one where you can select a random wallpaper, and another where you can listen to a (long since dead) MMS stream which is supposedly a radio station
  • New autorun, which plays music in the background and has animating text

Notes

  • There’s a shortcut on the desktop that shuts your computer down.
  • There is a link in the start menu that goes to the author’s Facebook page.
  • The C: drive has an icon applied to it.
  • The bootleg’s CD’s icon is a picture of a star.
  • Custom Black Compact’s theme is broken because the theme doesn’t exist, the closest theme that is related is Custom Gold Platinum. It also points to nonexistent cursors.
