Perfect for some 2005-2007 laptops, definitely works nice on a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop. By the way, did you know that the «Windows Vista Capable» text below the windows xp sticker doesn’t mean that the device is designed to run windows vista?

I agree.
I used windows Vista for a long time, and I only got around 6 BSODs. Most people who hated on it probably saw videos of people doing the installation wrong. So I dont really understand the hate for vista.

Nice words about Vista
Vista coming out off the anti trust was video heavy. If you didnt own a PC capable of running hi end video and not know how to control windows you were basically a complainer. Few simple mods like shutting aero off, turning off search indexer, using chrome more then IE till they fixed it around 9 i think and with a piece of crap pc vista would run like a chump. Matter of fact microsoft still use it as an entry to their schooling to see who can handle what. AND ask the people who bitch and moan the most about vista and they cant even pick why they hate it, they just do because they are mindless sheep hoping to be taken seriously

Honesty, In my opinion, Windows Vista was the best, just after Windows 7. It had bugs, lots of things didn’t work with it, but if you used it now, it would be fine

Ahh Vista
I don’t know why this operating system received so much hate. Yes it was rushed out yes it had bugs but it was an advance in the right direction. I for one always liked windows vista. Glad to see it being preserved.

Компания Microsoft выпустила очень интересный продукт. Полностью был изменён интерфейс: общий вид стал воздушным, плавным и прозрачным. Гамма получила логическое название Aero. При этом показатели можно было настраивать и сделать тему, удобную самому пользователю. Из эстетических нововведений была опция Flip 3D, показывающая все открытые окна в трёхмерном виде.
Ещё одной фишкой в Windows Vista стал сайдбар — небольшие анимированные иконки, отображающие нужную информацию в режиме реального времени, прямо на рабочем столе. Это часы, погоду и курсы валют. Сайдбар поддерживал общую схему и прекрасно вписывался в неё.
Разработчики Windows Vista полностью изменили технологию поиска внутри файловой системы. Поле поиска имелось почти везде, значок в виде лупы. Можно открывать поиск из стартового меню, в окне встроенного браузера Explorer, вводить данные из любого раздела файловой системы.
Разработчики Windows Vista уделили внимание и безопасности. Главным защитником данных пользователя стала функция User Account Control, помогающая защитить аккаунт от неавторизованных вторжений. Со стороны предотвращения действий вредоносных программ в тандеме с антивирусом работала технология Data Execution Prevention, запрещающая запускать личные данные. Ей помогала опция Windows Defender — штатный блокировщик рекламы и шпионских программ.
Из полезных технологий разработчики сделали родительский контроль, позволяющий ограничивать ребёнку время, проведённое в сети или играх. Можно было заблокировать доступ к определённым сайтам или поставить запреты, исходя из градации детского возраста.
Появилось распознавание голоса и управление через него наравне со стандартными устройствами ввода информации. Для увеличения производительности ПК специалисты Microsoft внедрили USB-драйв — функцию ReadyBoost. Для работы с памятью и автоматической подгрузки в неё нужных программ, ориентируясь на статистику по времени включения, сделали технологию SuperFetch.
Графика тоже перешла на новый уровень. Реалистичность в играх поддерживался DirectX10.
Windows Vista открыла новые возможности для командной работы над документами внутри одной сети — опция Windows Meeting Space. Появился встроенный скриншотер и работа через сканирование документов. Систему оснастили функцией запасного копирования, которую можно было запускать по расписанию. Через Easy Transfer пользователь легко мог перенести нужные файлы на другой компьютер. Vista работала и с мобильными устройствами на базе Windows Mobile. Для поддержки планшетов была сделана обновлённая версия с возможностью использования пера.

Если убрать с головы все стереотипы, предрассудки и сложившиеся мифы о windows vista, а по факту сравнить и протестировать семёрку и висту, то специалисты не увидят особых отличий, кроме разве что сглаженных и полупрозрачных окон. По сути это идентичные системы, они требуют минимально по одному гигу оперативы и по одному GHz процессора. Также как и на семёрке у висты уже на данный момент отсутствует поддержка гаджетов например погода, новости и т д.
По сути после 11 апреля этого года уже можно использовать windows vista в коммерческих целях бесплатно. Учёт бухгалтерии в какой нибудь не особо прибыльной фирме или обработка фотографий для фото ателье уже будет доступна без отстёгивания Билу Гейтсу.
