Description

ProduKey is a small utility that displays the ProductID and the CD-Key of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft Office 2007),
Windows (Including Windows 8/7/Vista), Exchange Server, and SQL Server installed on your computer.
You can view this information for your current running operating system, or for another
operating system/computer — by using command-line options.
This utility can be useful if you lost the product key of your Windows/Office, and you want
to reinstall it on your computer.

Known Problems

  Your Web browser may also block the download of ProduKey, based on the detection of Antivirus programs.

• For some types of license keys under Windows 7/8/2008, the product key is not stored in the Registry, and thus
  ‘Product key was not found’ message will be displayed.

• If you bought your computer with installed operating system, you may find the Windows product key appeared in ProduKey utility is different from the product key on your Windows CD.
  This problem is mostly reported with Dell computers.
• From unknown reason, the product key of Visual Stuido .NET is written in the Registry as Office XP product…
• In old versions of Office (Office 2000 and below), the ‘Product Key’ value is not available.

System Requirements

ProduKey works on all versions of Windows. Both 32-bit and 64-bit systems are supported. However, some features, like viewing the
product keys of another operating system instance, are only supported on Windows 2000/XP/2003/2008/Vista/7/8.

This utility is released as freeware.
You are allowed to freely distribute this utility via floppy disk, CD-ROM,
Internet, or in any other way, as long as you don’t charge anything for this and you don’t
sell it or distribute it as a part of commercial product.
If you distribute this utility, you must include all files in
the distribution package, without any modification !

Using ProduKey

ProduKey doesn’t requite any installation process or additional DLLs.
In order to start using it, simply extract the files to any folder you like, and then run the executable file — produkey.exe

If you want, you can also download ProduKey with full install/uninstall support (produkey_setup.exe), and then install it like any other software.

The main window of ProduKey displays the list of Windows, Office, and SQL Server products installed on your system.
For each product, the «Product ID» and «Product Key» are displayed.
If you want the view the product key information in another computer, or in another
operating system within the same computer, use the command-line options below.

Command-Line Options

/cfg <Filename>	Start ProduKey with the specified configuration file. For example: ProduKey.exe /cfg «c:\config\pdk.cfg» ProduKey.exe /cfg «%AppData%\ProduKey.cfg»
/remoteall	Enumerate all computers on your local network, and load the product key information from them. Be aware that this option is quite slow, and you may need to wait a few minutes until the product key information is displayed. In order to use this option, you must have Administrator privileges in all computers on your local network.
/remotealldomain [Domain Name]	Enumerate all computers in the specified domain, and load the product key information from them.
/remote [Computer Name]	Load product key information from the specified computer name. In order to use this option, you must log in to the remote computer with Administrator privileges. If you fail to connect the remote computer with ProduKey, read the instructions in the following Blog post: How to connect a remote Windows 7/Vista/XP computer with NirSoft utilities.
/iprange [From IP] [To IP]	Load product key information from all computers in the specified IP addresses range. In order to use this option, you must have Administrator privileges in all these computers.
/remotefile [Computer Names Filename]	Load product key information from all computer names specified in the file. The file can be tab-delimited, comma-delimited, or CRLF-delimited. In order to use this option, you must have Administrator privileges in all computers specified in the computer names file.
/windir [Windows Directory]	Load product key information from another operating system on the same computer. The [Windows Directory] specifies the base folder of Windows installation, for example: c:\windows, c:\winnt This feature is only supported on Windows 2000/XP/2003/2008/Vista/7.
/external	Load product key information from all external Windows installations of the disks that are currently plugged to your computer.
/regfile [Software Registry File]	Load product key information from another operating system on the same computer. The [Software Registry File] specifies the software registry file usually located under c:\windows\system32\config This feature is only supported on Windows 2000 or greater.
/nosavereg	Load ProduKey without saving your last settings (window location, columns size, and so on) to the Registry.
/WindowsKeys [0 | 1]	Specifies whether you want to view the product keys of Windows. 0 = No, 1 = Yes.
/OfficeKeys [0 | 1]	Specifies whether you want to view the product keys of MS-Office. 0 = No, 1 = Yes.
/IEKeys [0 | 1]	Specifies whether you want to view the product keys of Internet Explorer. 0 = No, 1 = Yes.
/SQLKeys [0 | 1]	Specifies whether you want to view the product keys of SQL Server. 0 = No, 1 = Yes.
/ExchangeKeys [0 | 1]	Specifies whether you want to view the product keys of Exchange. 0 = No, 1 = Yes.
/ExtractEdition [0 | 1]	Specifies whether to extact the Windows edition information.

You can also combine the above command-line options with the following save options in order to save
product key information to file:

/stext <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into a regular text file.
/stab <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into a tab-delimited text file.
/scomma <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into a comma-delimited text file.
/stabular <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into a tabular text file.
/shtml <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into HTML file.
/sverhtml <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into vertical HTML file.
/sxml <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into XML file.
/sjson <Filename>	Save the list of product keys into JSON file.
/sort <column>	This command-line option can be used with other save options for sorting by the desired column. If you don’t specify this option, the list is sorted according to the last sort that you made from the user interface. The <column> parameter can specify the column index (0 for the first column, 1 for the second column, and so on) or the name of the column, like «Product Name» and «Product Key». You can specify the ‘~’ prefix character (e.g: «~Installation Folder») if you want to sort in descending order. You can put multiple /sort in the command-line if you want to sort by multiple columns. Examples: produkey.exe /shtml «f:\temp\keys.html» /sort 2 /sort ~1 produkey.exe /shtml «f:\temp\keys.html» /sort «Product Name» /sort «Product Key»
/nosort	When you specify this command-line option, the list will be saved without any sorting.
/NoErrorMessage	When you specify it, ProduKey will not display an error message if the save action is failed.

Translating ProduKey to other languages

In order to translate ProduKey to other language, follow the instructions below:

1. Run ProduKey with /savelangfile parameter:
   
   ProduKey.exe /savelangfile
   
   A file named ProduKey_lng.ini will be created in the folder of ProduKey utility.
2. Open the created language file in Notepad or in any other text editor.
3. Translate all string entries to the desired language.
   Optionally, you can also add your name and/or a link to your Web site.
   (TranslatorName and TranslatorURL values) If you add this information, it’ll be
   used in the ‘About’ window.

4. After you finish the translation, Run ProduKey, and all translated
   strings will be loaded from the language file.
   
   If you want to run ProduKey without the translation, simply rename the language file, or move
   it to another folder.

ProduKey	ProduKey is a small utility that displays the ProductID and the CD-Key of MS-Office, Windows, Exchange Server, and SQL Server installed on your computer. You can view this information for your current running operating system, or for another operating system/computer. This utility can be useful if you lost the product key of your Windows/Office, and you want to reinstall it on your computer.
UninstallView	UninstallView is a tool for Windows that collects information about all programs installed on your system and displays the details of the installed programs in one table. You can use it to get installed programs information for your local system, for remote computer on your network, and for external hard-drive plugged to your computer. It also allows you to easily uninstall a software on your local computer and remote computer (Including quiet uninstall if the installer supports it).
RegScanner	RegScanner is a small utility that allows you to scan the Registry, find the desired Registry values that match to the specified search criteria, and display them in one list. After finding the Registry values, you can easily jump to the right value in RegEdit, simply by double-clicking the desired Registry item. You can also export the found Registry values into a .reg file that can be used in RegEdit.
OpenedFilesView	OpenedFilesView displays the list of all opened files on your system. For each opened file, additional information is displayed: handle value, read/write/delete access, file position, the process that opened the file, and more… Optionally, you can also close one or more opened files, or close the process that opened these files. This utility is especially useful if you try to delete/move/open a file and you get one of the following error messages: Cannot delete [filename]: There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination file may be in use. Cannot delete [filename]: It is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again. When you get one of these error messages, OpenedFilesView will show you which process lock your file. Closing the right process will solve this problem. optionally, you can also release the file by closing the handle from OpenedFilesView utility. However, be aware that after closing a file in this way, the program that opened the file may become unstable, and even crash.
FileTypesMan	FileTypesMan is an alternative to the ‘File Types’ tab in the ‘Folder Options’ of Windows. It displays the list of all file extensions and types registered on your computer. For each file type, the following information is displayed: Type Name, Description, MIME Type, Perceived Type, Flags, Browser Flags, and more. FileTypesMan also allows you to easily edit the properties and flags of each file type, as well as it allows you to add, edit, and remove actions in a file type.
SearchMyFiles	SearchMyFiles is an alternative to the standard «Search For Files And Folders» module of Windows. It allows you to easily search files in your system by wildcard, by last modified/created/last accessed time, by file attributes, by file content (text or binary search), and by the file size. SearchMyFiles allows you to make a very accurate search that cannot be done with Windows search. For Example: You can search all files created in the last 10 minutes with size between 500 and 700 bytes. After you made a search, you can select one or more files, and save the list into text/html/csv/xml file, or copy the list to the clipboard.
BlueScreenView	BlueScreenView scans all your minidump files created during ‘blue screen of death’ crashes, and displays the information about all crashes in one table. For each crash, BlueScreenView displays the minidump filename, the date/time of the crash, the basic crash information displayed in the blue screen (Bug Check Code and 4 parameters), and the details of the driver or module that possibly caused the crash (filename, product name, file description, and file version). For each crash displayed in the upper pane, you can view the details of the device drivers loaded during the crash in the lower pane. BlueScreenView also mark the drivers that their addresses found in the crash stack, so you can easily locate the suspected drivers that possibly caused the crash.
ShellExView	Shell Extensions are in-process COM objects which extends the abilities of Windows operating system. Most shell extensions are automatically installed by the operating system, but there are also many other applications that install additional shell extension components. For example: If you install WinZip on your computer, you’ll see a special WinZip menu when you right-click on a Zip file. This menu is created by adding a shell extension to the system. The ShellExView utility displays the details of shell extensions installed on your computer, and allows you to easily disable and enable each shell extension.
ShellMenuView	ShellMenuView is a small utility that display the list of static menu items that appeared in the context menu when you right-click a file/folder on Windows Explorer, and allows you to easily disable unwanted menu items.
LastActivityView	LastActivityView is a tool for Windows operating system that collects information from various sources on a running system, and displays a log of actions made by the user and events occurred on this computer. The activity displayed by LastActivityView includes: Running .exe file, Opening open/save dialog-box, Opening file/folder from Explorer or other software, software installation, system shutdown/start, application or system crash, network connection/disconnection and more… You can easily export this information into csv/tab-delimited/xml/html file or copy it to the clipboard and then paste into Excel or other software.
TurnedOnTimesView	TurnedOnTimesView is a simple tool that analyses the event log of Windows operating system, and detects the time ranges that your computer was turned on. For every period of time that the computer was turned on, the following information is displayed: Startup Time, Shutdown Time, Duration, Shutdown Reason, Shutdown Type, Shutdown Process, and Shutdown Code. BatteryInfoView	BatteryInfoView is a small utility for laptops and netbook computers that displays the current status and information about your battery. The displayed battery information includes the battery name, manufacture name, serial number, manufacture date, power state (charging/discharging), current battery capacity, full charged capacity, voltage, charge/discharge rate, and more… BatteryInfoView also provides a log window, which adds a new log line containing the battery status every 30 seconds or any other time interval that you choose.
SysExporter	SysExporter utility allows you to grab the data stored in standard list-views, tree-views, list boxes, combo boxes, text-boxes, and WebBrowser/HTML controls from almost any application running on your system, and export it to text, HTML or XML file. Here’s some examples for data that you can export with SysExporter: The files list inside archive file (.zip, .rar, and so on) as displayed by WinZip or 7-Zip File Manager. The files list inside a folder. The event log of Windows. The list of emails and contacts in Outlook Express. The Registry values displayed in the right pane of the Registry Editor. FolderTimeUpdate	FolderTimeUpdate is a simple tool for Windows that scans all files and folders under the base folder you choose, and updates the ‘Modified Time’ of every folder according the latest modified time of the files stored in it. This tool might be useful if, for example, you backup a cluster of folders and then restore them into another disk, but the backup program doesn’t restore the original modified time of the folders.
USBDeview	USBDeview is a small utility that lists all USB devices that currently connected to your computer, as well as all USB devices that you previously used. For each USB device, extended information is displayed: Device name/description, device type, serial number (for mass storage devices), the date/time that device was added, VendorID, ProductID, and more… USBDeview also allows you to uninstall USB devices that you previously used, and disconnect USB devices that are currently connected to your computer. You can also use USBDeview on a remote computer, as long as you login to that computer with admin user.
DriverView	DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.
RegDllView	RegDllView is a small utility that displays the list of all registered dll/ocx/exe files (COM registration). For each registered file, you can view the last date/time that it was registered, and the list of all registration entries (CLSID/ProgID). RegDllView also allows you to unregister dll/ocx files that you don’t need on your system anymore. If you have dll/ocx files that don’t exist on your system anymore, but their registration entries are still exist in your Registry, you can manually remove these entries by using ‘Delete All Entries For Selected Files’ option.

ESEDatabaseView	ESEDatabaseView is a simple utility that reads and displays the data stored inside Extensible Storage Engine (ESE) database (Also known as ‘Jet Blue’ or .edb file). It displays a list of all tables available in the opened database file, allows you to choose the desired table to view, and then when you choose a table, it displays all records found in the selected table. ESEDatabaseView also allows you to easily choose one or more records, and then export them into comma-delimited/tab-delimited/html/xml file, or copy the records to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) and then paste them into Excel or other spreadsheet application.
URLProtocolView	URLProtocolView is a simple utility that displays all URL protocols (for example: ftp:, telnet:, mailto:) that are currently installed on your system. For each URL protocol, the following information is displayed: The protocol name, the protocol description, the command-line that is executed when you type or click the URL, the product name, and the company name. This utility also allows you to easily enable/disable the URL protocols.
ProcessActivityView	ProcessActivityView creates a summary of all files and folders that the selected process tries to access. For each file that the process access, the following information is displayed: Number of times that the file was opened and closed, number of read/write calls, total number of read/write bytes, the dll that made the last open-file call, and more…
RegFromApp	RegFromApp monitors the Registry changes made by the application that you selected, and creates a standard RegEdit registration file (.reg) that contains all the Registry changes made by the application.
