Cisco Jabber is a Windows software for communicating with other people. There are tools for making video and audio calls. It is possible to leave voice messages to currently unavailable contacts.
How to register
The Jabber communication protocol is designed for protected instant messaging. There is no one centralized server for transferring information. Users can create an account in one of the existing web services with XMPP support. It is possible to upload an avatar image and enter personal details such as the name, gender and age.
The next step is to type in the nickname and domain on the login screen. Additional connection parameters can be configured in the corresponding menu.
Communication options
After logging into the main interface you are able to add new people to the contact list by searching their nicknames. Similar to Trillian, there are instruments for blocking spam accounts and other unwanted contacts.
Users can manage video conferences with up to 100 people. Buttons for muting individual participants and temporarily disabling the webcam are provided.
All incoming and outgoing Jabber traffic is automatically encrypted. The PGP security protocol is used to ensure safe communications.

Cisco Jabber представляет собой мультимедийный корпоративный мессенджер, который кроме контроля онлайн статуса и текстового чата предоставляет и голосовую, и видеосвязь, и конференцсвязь, и видеопочту, и screen-sharing. Причем, он работает и на PC, и на Mac, и на мобильных платформах — iPhone, iPad, Nokia, Android и BlackBerry. А серверная часть может работать и в облаке, и на локальном сервере. Разумеется, для контроля онлайн статуса и текстового чата, Cisco Jabber использует открытый протокол Jabber (XMPP), что позволяет через этот мессенджер общаться с внешними контрагентами, использующими GTalk, AIM, Sametime или другие популярные IM-клиенты. Cisco Jabber умеет «разговаривать» и с другими коммуникационными системами Cisco: WebEx, Cisco Telepresence, Cisco UC, IP-телефонами Cisco.
