Windows Themes Installer – это утилита, которая упрощает процесс управления темами в системе Windows 7. Программа может устанавливать новые темы оформления и удалять не нужные. Кроме этого программу Windows Themes Installer можно использовать для установки в автоматическом режиме системных файлов, содержащих пропатченные элементы.
Перед запуском программы необходимо использовать патч для сторонних тем. Запуск программы Windows Themes Installer осуществляется только с правами администратора.
При использовании этой программы очень важно заменяя системные файлы пропатченными смотреть на их версии. Из-за несоответствия версий система может стать неработоспособной.
В том случае, если версии файлов не совпадают, проведите следующие действия:
1. В программе Ресторатор откройте пропатченный файл.
2. Извлеките изменённые файлы.
3. Скопируйте настоящий системный файл в отдельную папку.
4. Примените на нём извлечённые ранее ресурсы.
5. В программе Windows Themes Installer укажите месторасположение изменённого файла.

Windows Theme Installer is a program that enables you to install unofficial themes for Windows Vista and 7. It features a simple and intuitive graphical user interface which includes all options in the main window.
Purpose
When you want to customize the appearance of your Windows PC, all you need to do is search on the Internet to find compatible themes. Installing them is a different matter altogether, especially if you would like to control the files that get on your computer. However, with Windows Theme Installer you can personalize your OS with minimum effort.
Functionality
This intuitive utility offers you a convenient solution for installing custom themes by allowing you to specify each element. In other words, you are able to deploy not only themes, but also the modified Explorer or the Shell32 files. It is necessary to mention that not all visual enhancements have these components, so you have to select the ones you want to apply.
Alternatively, you may choose not to install any files other than the actual theme one. It typically contains only the revamped color scheme. Please note, when dealing with Windows 7 themes, you can find the corresponding file after extracting the contents of the archive with various extractor tools like WinZip.

We are pleased to release Windows Themes Installer. Windows Themes Installer is a freeware portable utility which allows you to install a theme, remove a theme, and restore defaults easily in Windows 7 & Vista.
UPDATE: 22.03.10. Windows Theme Installer has been updated to v 1.1. This new version will automatically patch the system files without the need of a 3rd party system file patcher.
Windows does not allow you to install 3rd party themes. You have to patch some system files to be able to do so. This new version 1.1 will automatically patch the system files without the need of a 3rd party system file patcher. If the system files are already patched then it does nothing. To restore the patched files yo,u will need to use Universal Theme Patcher.
How to use Windows Themes Installer:
INSTALL A THEME AND CHANGE SYSTEM FILES:
1. Run the tool as Administrator.
2. Select the options which you want to install:
- Theme
- Explorer.exe
- OobeFldr.dll
- ExplorerFrame.dll
- Shell32.dll.
3. Once you have selected the options, click on the “Browse” button, and browse for the file of the desired option.
4. Now click on “Install Theme” button to install the theme and replace the system files.
RESTORE DEFAULT SYSTEM FILES:
To restore the default system files click on the “Restore Default System Files” button.
REMOVE A THEME:
To remove a theme select the theme which you want to remove from the list and click on the “Remove Theme” button.
APPLY A THEME:
To apply a theme select the theme which you want to apply from the list and click on the “Apply Theme” button.
It is always a good idea to create a system restore point first before making any changes to your system. Should the need arise, the System File Checker Utility will help you replace your system files with ‘good original’ Windows system files.
Windows Themes Installer v 1.1 has been developed for TWC, by our TWCF member Kishan. Some security software may report it as being suspect. This is because the tweaker changes the Windows system setting. Rest assured that it is a false-positive. If your antivirus software flags it as suspect, you may need to add it to its Ignore, Exclusions or safe list. If you wish to customize your Start Orb, you can use Windows 7 Start Button Changer.
Here is a theme I installed easily using Windows Theme Installer. You can check out for some good Windows 7 themes at DeviantArt. A downloaded theme may or may not contain all the specified files, but should definitely contain the .theme file.

How to use:
Run the app. On the first run, it will ask if you want to patch the UXTheme files. Patching is required if you want to use 3rd party themes. If you haven’t already patched the files (or if you are not sure), click Yes. After some time Windows will automatically log off indicating the patching has been done. Login and run the app again.
To install new themes:

Click the … button after .theme and browse for the theme file.

If the theme you want to install comes with replaceable system files, click the … button after the name of the system files and browse for the system file. In Windows 7, instead of TwinUI.dll, options to change Explorer.exe, ExplorerFrame.dll and OobeFldr.dll are available. The app will automatically make sure that the system file which you choose is of the correct Windows version and architecture. If not, you will see the following message:

After you have selected the .theme file and the system files that you want to replace, click Install Theme & System Files.

Windows Explorer will automatically restart and the theme and system files will be installed. Select the new theme in the list and click Apply Theme to apply the theme.
To restore the default system files just click Restore Default System Files.
To apply/delete existing themes, select any theme in the Installed Themes list and click Apply Theme/Delete Theme.
