Updating HP QuickPlay
To update HP QuickPlay software:
- In Microsoft® Windows®, go to
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html and search for the
Software and Driver Downloads page for your product. Use
the instructions provided on the Web site. - Download and install the QuickPlay update SoftPaq using the instructions
on the screen. - Shut down your notebook through the Microsoft Windows operating
system. Refer to your notebook documentation for instructions if
necessary. - Press the music or DVD button on your notebook to open QuickPlay.
- Press fn+esc to access the Setup Menu.
- Select General Settings > Update.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update. Your
system will automatically shut down after the update is complete.
Reinstalling HP QuickPlay
If you need to reinstall QuickPlay, carefully follow the steps in the sections
indicated below:
- If you need to reinstall your operating system and QuickPlay, you must
repartition your hard drive to install QuickPlay. Refer to “Repartioning
Your Hard Drive” in this document. - If you do not need to reinstall your operating system, you do not need
to repartition your hard drive to reinstall QuickPlay. Refer to “Installing
HP QuickPlay” in this document.
Repartioning Your Hard Drive
QuickPlay requires a 204-MB partition. If you have to reinstall your Windows
operating system, be sure to reserve 204 MB of free space during Windows
installation. To repartition your hard drive:
- Insert the Windows installation CD and follow the on-screen instructions.
- When the prompt “To create the new partition, enter a size below and press
Enter” is displayed, enter the Windows partition size. The Windows
partition size is the maximum size listed minus 204 MB. (204 MB of free
space will be reserved for the QuickPlay partition.) - Continue with the instructions on the screen to complete the installation
of Windows on the first partition. - Refer to “Installing HP QuickPlay” for steps to install QuickPlay.
Installing HP QuickPlay
If you need to reinstall QuickPlay on a notebook with a partitioned hard drive:

- Insert the HP QuickPlay CD and restart the system by pressing the power
button. The CD automatically runs the installation application. - Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall QuickPlay.

Выяснилось что не у всех получается по инструкци. Скажем спасибо lexxx’у вот что он написал:
Прошу прощения, давно сюда не заходил.
Последовательность.
1. Ставим винду, во время установки создаем разделы, таким образом, что бы в конце HDD осталось пустое неразмеченое место размером 1028Мб, обзывать его никак не надо, т.к. его в виндахх вообще не видно будет. Но наверное можно и потом создать неразмеченое пространство, я не пробовал.
2. Ставим дрова и софт ХаПэшный (HP Quick Play for Windows, брал где-то на трекере), кодеки.
3. Ставим HP Quick Play Direct
После установки HP Quick Play система попросит перезагрузку, соглашаемся и в этот момент заскакиваем в БИОС, выставляем настройки по умолчанию и сохраняем.
4. И после этого винда начинает на этот самый маленький раздел копировать всяческие дрова. На монике процесс виден, ждем до конца. И получаем в итоге быстрый запуск Quick Play.
Ну и естественно работает всё это только на ноутах с поддержкой кнопок QuickPlay.
У меня после этих манипуляций заработало. И вам удачи.
УСТАНОВКА!!! ЧИТАТЬ ВСЕМ!!! ВНИМАТЕЛЬНО!!!!
1. Положить папку HPQPDP в С:\SwSetup\
2. Используя PartitionMagic Pro или Disk Management в Windows создать 1027.6 MB (или 1028 MB) UNALLOCATED (пустого) пространства в КОНЦЕ диска
3. Обозвать это пространство буквой X: но НЕ ФОРМАТИРОВАТЬ ЕГО!
4. Из папки HPQPDP запустить setup.exe.
5. Подождать.
6. Подождать еще ))).
7. Перезагрузится и продолжать ждать.
8. Выключить компьютер нажать Quickplay кнопку. Вы должны увидить заставку Windows XP.
9. Наслаждайтесь…
