• I can’t connect to rTorrent what is wrong?

When using rTorrent you have to configure your http server correctly. Follow this guide to make sure you have it set up correctly. Alternative you may be able to use /plugins/httprpc/action.php as the path if your have the HTTPRPC plugin installed.

You can then add torrents by magnet link or torrent file through cmd.

example:
qbt torrent add url %1 -c Movies --url http://192.168.2.13:2222 in a .bat file where the argument would be the magnetlink, for downloading in the category Movies. The ip and port (192.168.2.13:2222) is my example, yours may differ.

Associate this bat file with magnet:// links in your browser, and you can download those on your remote server by just clicking those links.

With a little bit of extra work you can also download torrent files this way.

Is qBittorrent better than uTorrent?

Features – qBittorrent Wins Again. qBittorrent and uTorrent share a lot of features, including file prioritization, NAT traversal, selective downloading, and sequential downloading, but in the end, qBittorrent edged out its competition thanks to better implementation of its features and the fact that it’s 100% free.

What is DHT in qBittorrent?

DHT, or distributed sloppy hash table is used for storing peer contact information for «trackerless» torrents. In effect, each peer becomes a tracker. DHT has been included with many clients since it first debuted in the summer of 2005.

What is qBittorrent Qt6?

0 added Qt6 support. It offers better HiDPI compatibility for Windows 10+ and Linux using AppImage package. Though, it has known issue about text display on the progress bar. The Qt5 build is still the primary packages, though the next major release will probably drop Qt5 support.

qBittorrent является кросс-платформенным торрент-клиентом, который может быть установлен на Windows, Linux, FreeBSD.

В комплект поставки Ubuntu и Linux Mint включен торрент-клиент Transmission, но дополнительно можно установить и qBittorrent. Для использования самой свежей версии устанавливайте его через репозиторий:

Постановка вопроса обусловлена тем, что один из компьютеров маленькой домашней сети (ЛВС) в основном работает в интересах qBittorrent.

Пояснение. Речь идёт именно о подключении из домашней сети, поэтому необходимости в такой мере защиты не имеется. А вот неудобство, связанное с постоянным подтверждением полномочий доступа, имеется.

Включение удалённого доступа к qBittorrent осуществляется через его настройку.

Вызвать «Инструменты – Настройки – Веб-интерфейс»:

Строка «IP-адрес» определяет адрес IP, сопоставленный клиенту qBittorrent и, как правило, совпадающий с IP-адресом компьютера, на который он был установлен. Указание конкретного адреса имеет смысл в том случае, если компьютер может одновременно использовать несколько адресов IP (например, при наличии двух и более сетевых карт). Начальное значение в строке – значок *, соответствующий всем назначенным компьютеру адресам IP.

По умолчанию в строке «Домены сервера» стоит значок * (любой домен или без домена).  Наличие на рисунке выше доменного имени (vot) обусловлено назначением узлам домашней сети имени домена vot, в результате чего имена компьютеров имеются как host.vot.

Примечание. При использовании роутера MikroTik в его DNS можно назначить автоматические запись и удаление узлов (подробности). 

В настройках пользователя и пароля ни имя, ни пароль не изменялись, но установлена галочка в поле «Пропускать аутентификацию для клиентов разрешённых подсетей»:

Далее следует нажать на кнопку «Разрешённые подсети…» и в появившемся окне ввести адрес подсети и нажать на кнопку «Добавить подсеть».

В большинстве случаев домашнего использования адрес подсети будет иметь вид 192.168.1.0/24 или 192.168.100.0/24. После указания адреса подсети кнопка «Добавить подсеть» станет активной, например:

Нажмите на кнопки «Применить» и «OK». Внесённые изменения вступают в силу немедленно, что позволяет с другого компьютера через браузер подключиться к qBittorrent. По умолчанию подключение осуществляется через порт 8080, но его можно изменить: см. самую первую позицию в «Веб-интерфейс (удалённое управление).

Для удалённого доступа к qBittorrent введите в адресную строку браузера его адрес. Учитывая описанное выше в моём случае осуществляется запрос по доменному имени, то есть http://h-4.vot:8080. Результат показан на рисунке ниже:

Если Вами будет принято решение о полном удалении Transmission из своего Ubuntu или Linux Mint, то выполните в терминале в одну строку команду:

sudo apt purge -y transmission-gtk transmission-common && rm -fR /home/user/.cache/transmission &&  rm -fR /home/user/.config/transmission

user – Ваш домашний каталог, /home/user можно заменить на символ ~

Таким образом Вы удалите из системы все пакеты Transmission и его данные, записываемые в скрытые каталоги ~/.cache/transmission и ~/.config/transmission (для их отображения включите в файловом менеджере отображение скрытых файлов через меню «Вид»).
