Difference between Iot and Non-Iot Windows Enterprise LTSC
2021:
- Licensing — Non-Iot version supports the KMS license but not the
Digital license. Iot version supports the Digital license and after the
update 19044.2788, it supports the KMS license as well. - Sandbox — Initial release (19044.1288) of Iot LTSC didn’t have
sandbox but non-Iot version had. Later updates enabled it in Iot as
well, so there is no difference anymore. - Reserved storage feature — Iot doesn’t have reserved storage feature
and it’s install takes less space in installation. (Feature is not much
important for LTSC release) - Windows Update — Iot is supported till 2032 and Non-Iot is supported
till 2027.

In short, some time ago, Microsoft released a new update for Windows 11 Insider Dev Channel users, where this update is update KB5021855, where with this update, the OS build will change to 25252.1010, and as we already know, if it has the end. 1000 or 1010, it is certain that this update is just a pipeline test.
Now while Windows 11 Insider Dev Build 25252 brings a number of changes including the New Taskbar Search and the VPN Indicator on the Network Icon on the Windows 11 Taskbar, in the update released this time nothing is presented, because again, this is just a pipeline test and is intended to test the quality of Windows Update releases to users only.

Recently encountered an interesting problem and solution. I was attempting to update Windows 10 LTSC again and the setup.exe in the root directory of the ISO and in the files directory too both just started a plain installation that wanted me to pick a volume and would move my C:\Windows to C:\Windows.old and reinstall. This is not what I wanted. I found an executable program in the larger directory with all of the setup files in it called «setupprep.exe» and when I ran that it seemed to start the upgrade procedure perfectly!
Thought others might also find «setupprep.exe» to be really helpful when encountering the situation where they need to upgrade LTSC/IOT/Enterprise versions of Windows.
