В древние времена Землю населяли не только люди, но и монстры. Из-за разногласий между ними началась война, которая закончилась в пользу человеческой расы. Семерка магов загнала монстров под землю и заключила их там на веки вечные при помощи барьерного заклятия. Однако остался один вход в горе Эботт, которым и воспользовался ребенок. Данная игра была разработана Тоби Фоксом – известным программистом из США. Сначала ею могли насладиться владельцы персональных компьютеров под управлением Microsoft Windows и Linux OS, а затем пришел черед пользователей игровых приставок.
Какой смысл этой игры? Мальчик путешествует по подземному миру, населенному монстрами. Некоторые из них сразу проявляют враждебность, а другие любят поговорить. Игрок может выбрать одну из 2 моделей поведения: избегать насилия или сражаться. В первом случае, проходить игру будет легче, во втором – наоборот сложнее. Также от данного выбора зависят сюжет и концовка, которые могут разветвляться и меняться.
