i needed a rubber ducky … I tried the «edit config» of the profile and then pressed save as.

The save as address is %USERPROFILE%\OpenVPN\config\ with subsequent folders that contain the profiles. just delete the offending folders and they get removed from the GUI after application restart.

  • Adding/Removing config files from C:\Users%USERNAME%\OpenVPN\config didn’t fix the problem for me. Instead adding/removing them in C:/Program Files/OpenVPN/config fixed it.

OpenVPN GUI will save configuration files in following address:

C:\Users%USERNAME%\OpenVPN\config

in order to remove profiles you can delete folders in above directory

Also as SomeGuy pointed out in the openvpn-forum another place for configuration files could be

C:/Program Files/OpenVPN/config
C:/Program Files (x86)/OpenVPN/config

My «OpenVPN Connect» client (version 3.3.1 (2222)) stores the profiles in directory:

%APPDATA%\OpenVPN Connect\profiles

Delete the corresponding file.

NOTE: «OpenVPN Connect» client on Windows 10 does have a delete profile option.
Go to tab «Profiles», click on the pencil and click on button «delete profile»

How to delete a configuration profile if added with «import file»

Hello there,

I know this question may sound dumb, but I cannot find a way to get rid of one of my connection profiles from the VPN Client (Windows, v2.4.7).
The ones I manually copied in the [Config] folder can be easily discarded by simply deleting the .ovpn files there but those profiles that I added through the «Import file…» option in the GUI, I cannot find where to delete them from.

Please help.

Probably from C:\Users\»Your user name»\openvpn\config

The configuration files may also be found in \Program FIles\OpenVPN\config… that’s where they were for me instead of in a user folder.

В меню Настройки — Дополнительно есть пункт папки с конфигами

В моем случае это C:\Users\alexv\OpenVPN\config
в этой папке лежат ovpn файлы конфига подключения, либо доп папки с сертификатами, ключами и конфигами. В этой папке удали папку с ненужным конфигом и файлами либо ненужный ovpn файл.

Удаление следов на операционной системе Windows

Шаг 1: Отключение удаленного доступа
