Intel GMA 950 graphics core:
The Intel GMA 950 is an integrated graphics solution launched on June 1st, 2005. It is based on the Lakeport graphics processor and supports DirectX 9.0. It lacks unified shaders and runs at 250 MHz with a power draw of seven Watts.
This processor supports DirectX 9.0c and OpenGL 1.4. It is capable of decoding MPEG2 video at a frame rate of 1332 megapixels per second. However, it lacks features like hardware transform and lighting, which are necessary for DirectX 9.0c. Intel’s GMA 950 is not supported in Mac OS X 10.4 but is available on newer Mac OSes.
Intel GMA 950 graphics support a wide range of displays, delivering outstanding visual quality and vibrant color. It also supports High-Definition television and dynamic modes. Moreover, it is compatible with multiple Linux* OSes.
Support for DirectX 9.0 with Shader Model 3.0:
DirectX 9 is a new suite of technologies developed by Microsoft to make Windows-based computers an ideal multimedia platform. It offers many improvements, including improved performance and security. It also includes an improved shader model that enables applications to take advantage of more advanced graphics hardware. Support for DirectX 9.0 is available in Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, and Windows Vista.
DirectX 9 is a major update for PCs, enabling developers to produce games that utilize advanced technology. With this new feature, games run more smoothly and with more detail than ever before. It also supports High dynamic range (HDR) rendering for the ultimate in lighting effects.
If you have a DirectX 9-compatible video card, you’ll need to update your graphics card drivers. Usually, updating the video card drivers can solve most compatibility problems. However, if you have an older video card, you may have to run programs in compatibility mode until you’ve updated your drivers.
Support for Motion Compensation:
The Intel GMA 950 graphics processor is capable of decoding HD video. Its dual-core design supports DirectX 9.0 and OpenGL 1.4 and has a 400 MHz RAMDAC. It also features two 25-200 Mpixel/s serial DVO ports and two display controllers. This chipset is compatible with both Windows XP and Windows Vista. It supports DirectDraw overlay and Microsoft DirectX 9.0 hardware acceleration.
The Intel GMA 950 graphics chip delivers unparalleled visual quality. It supports a variety of popular display formats including High-Definition TV and DVD. So, it also supports a variety of operating systems, including multiple Linux* OSs. It also supports DirectX* 9 and Open GL 1.4 with ARB extensions and supports 224 MB of video memory.
The Intel GMA 950 chip is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OS X. It was included in Apple’s Developer Transition Kit (DTK) for the transition from PowerPC to Intel. So, it supports Core Image and Quartz Extreme. It supports a number of 3D game settings and has support for Windows Vista’s Aero Glass effects.
Support for Windows 7’s Aero interface:
Support for Windows 7’s Aero interface is built into the operating system. This new feature lets you move windows and maximize or minimize them with a single mouse click. In addition, you can also minimize or restore windows with keyboard shortcuts, such as Win+Space. The new feature also comes with a tile feature, which lets you rearrange windows on the screen.
The first step is to check whether the display has 32-bit color support. If the display does not support this feature, Windows will disable the Aero interface. In addition, you must make sure that you have a refresh rate of 10 Hz or higher. Otherwise, you must choose one of two other options: Classic View and Personalization.
Another useful feature of Windows 7 is Aero Peek, which lets you view live previews of open applications. However, this feature requires an Aero-capable video card and a Windows 7 edition that supports the interface. If you don’t have either of these options, you can try the Aero Snap or Shake feature. In the latter, you can view live previews of all open windows, such as IE. Hovering the mouse over the live preview shows the selected window. You can then click or drag it to move it to the desired location.
