Here you will learn about the installation process for the HP LaserJet 5000 Series PS basic driver. The following instructions can be followed for all Windows operating systems.
- Click on the ‘Start’ button and choose ‘Settings’ from the menu.
- In the Settings page, click on the ‘Devices’ options.
- In the Devices page, choose the ‘Printers & scanners’ in the left-pane, then click on the ‘Add a printer or scanner’ option.
- Wait for some time, then click on the ‘The printer that I want isn’t listed’ link when it appears.
- In the Add Printer window, choose ‘Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings’ option, then click on ‘Next’ to continue.
- In the ‘Use an existing port’ field, click on the ‘Down’ arrow on its front and choose ‘USB’ port from the options, then click on the ‘Next’ button.
- Click on the ‘Have Disk’ button.

- In the Browse window, locate the folder where HP printer INF driver files are present and select the ‘prnhp001’ file, then click on the ‘Open’ button.

- From the list of available printers, choose the ‘HP LaserJet 5000 Series PCL 5’ printer, then click on the ‘Next’ button.
- If you want you can choose the name for your printer or leave the default name unchanged, then click on the ‘Next’ button.

- Choose ‘Do not share this printer’ option, then click on the ‘Next’ button.
