I am a heavy user of Google Tasks. I love the easy integration between all the Google services such as Gmail, Calendar and Keep. The mobile app is also excellent. However, Google forces you to use Google Tasks in this terrible interface:

Install

I have not signed this app using Certificates from Apple Developer Program. Due to this, once you install the app, your Mac will scream at you (rightfully) because the app comes from an unidentified developer. Here is a tutorial video: https://youtu.be/TV93IRDu9No

Resource Use

This is no comparison. An optimized-native M1 Mac app vs Google Chrome? Not fair. To make it more fair, Google Chrome is an unused browser (I use Firefox!). EVEN then, Google Tasks running as a sidebar app in Gmail uses 10x more memory and 6x more CPU than Google Tasks Desktop.

That’s it! The app is a no-nonsense wrapper around Google Tasks, it just works! This implementation meets all my needs and I am satisfied with it. However, there are some notable missing features that others might want

If this repo gets more than 100 stars, I’ll work on the following:

Switching between more than one account and sign out of current account.
Dark mode.
System notifications for upcoming tasks.
App signed using Apple Developer Program.
App available from Mac App Store.

Google Tasks is a Windows online service for managing personal or business tasks. Like in TickTick, users are able to create lists with multiple goals and mark individual items upon completion. It is possible to set custom deadlines as well. Please note that the free version of Google Tasks provides limited capabilities.

Task creation

After opening the main dashboard you can add a new entry by clicking the corresponding button. It is possible to assign custom labels and specify the date for every individual item. Moreover, there are tools for attaching photos, audio tracks and other media files from the Google Disk cloud storage service.

Users are able to add subtasks, duplicate entries and automatically sort the content by various attributes. There is an option to create several virtual boards with different task lists and quickly switch between them. This functionality is helpful for managing multiple projects at the same time.

Settings

You can enable dark mode to reduce eye strain. The start day of the week is customizable. There are options for hiding the task counter and muting sound effects. A button for switching between the horizontal and vertical views is included as well.
