Description:
As Microsoft discontinued xlive (Games for Windows Live) in exchange for XboX Live, old games that rely on this service won’t start. FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage will shut down immediately after launch on Windows 10, unless the xlive issue is fixed. These files disables the online checks of the outdated xlive files, that’s it. Problem solved
To install:
Just extract to game’s main folder.

I recently upgraded from a 160GB 5400 RPM hard drive to a 500GB 7200 RPM hard drive, so I’ve been installing games that I previously had to remove to clear space.
Several months back, I bought FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage when it was on sale on Steam for $4.50. The game looked like fun, it cost less than 5 bucks, and I figured I could always install it later.
Well, today is «later.»
Unfortunately, when I try to launch the game from Steam, it doesn’t launch. No error. No warning. Just…nothing.
So after reading on the FO:UC Steam forums, I disabled the «Enable Steam community in-game» option under the game’s properties in the Steam Library window. When I tried to launch the game after making the change, it threw the following error:
«The program can’t start because xlive.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.»
/facepalm
Apparently Games for Windows Live is REQUIRED to play FO:UC. If I knew this in the first place, I wouldn’t have spent a penny on it, let alone $4.50.
Seriously, GFWL is a cancer on gaming—not to mention redundant and completely unnecessary for a STEAM GAME.

So if you see FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage go on sale on Steam soon, I advise skipping it. As it is, I’m seriously considering deleting the game files and considering the $4.50 as the cost of my lesson.

Though I admit I’m slightly disappointed that you didn’t generate an Xzibit meme image to go with the post.

DirectX is not a service.
Also, why should that have any impact on playing the game? I mean, it’s not exactly SecuROM (which Bioshock 2 has, sadly. ;P)
I suppose I come from the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid—not the rock band) school of game design. It seems inane to have a Steam game include additional DRM (which is why tacking SecuROM on to Steam games is just plain stupid) and/or additional multiplayer services (if I wanted a GFWL game, I would buy a game from the GFWL—not off Steam).

So while I still think tacking GFWL on to the Steam release of a game is inane, I played FO:UC last night for about 15 minutes and have to admit that the game is actually fun. It’s quite possibly the LAZIEST console-to-PC port I’ve ever seen in my life, though; even the navigation controls are identical to the 360 version (A to continue, B to go back, Y to view Leaderboards, etc.).
If I had it to do over again, I’d probably have skipped FO:UC entirely and just purchased Burnout Paradise on the PS3 when I had a bit more spending cash. (To be fair, though, I didn’t have a PS3 when I purchased FO:UC.)

Several months back, I bought FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage when it was on sale on Steam for $4.50. The game looked like fun, it cost less than 5 bucks, and I figured I could always install it later.
Well, today is «later.»

Вряд-ли у кого-то возникают проблемы с системой Games for Windows Live, однако, возможно и остались те, кто не может запустить игры по типу GTA IV, Section 8: Prejudice . Я был один из тех, кто был в такой ситуации и поверьте, всё ГОРАААЗДО проще, чем кажется! (Да, этот гайд может быть бесполезным, но эй, может и нет, откуда нам знать?)
Невозможно установить Games For Windows Marketplace
Начнем с простого! Вы устанавливаете спокойно себе GfWLive(Отныне будем его сокращать), как вдруг выскакивает ТАКАЯ ОШИБКА
И казалось бы всё, жизнь окончена… Но что бы её возобновить следуйте инструкции:
- Нажмите «Папка журнала»
- Дальше идём туда
3. Далее идём в данную папку
4. Жмём на этот установщик(Если будет 2 файла, то установите оба! У меня просто осталось как анинсталлер) и устанавливаем
И ВУАЛЯ! МАРКЕТПЛЭЙС УСТАНОВЛЕН!!
(Если будут проблемы — сообщите!)
Xlive.dll проблема и как решать?
Ошибка возникает в том случае, если вы такой же как и я, удалили Marketplace, но даже с успехом его установки есть вероятность появления ошибки
Ой, да тут ещё проще!
Сначала скачайте данный файл
И теперь погнали решать:

НЕ ПЕРЕМЕЩАЙТЕ ФАЙЛ В ПАПКУ ИГРЫ! ЭТО НЕ ВЫХОД!
- Перенесите этот файл в папку System32(Если он там уже есть, то существующий не удаляйте, а перенесите в другую папку, это ваш резерв)
- Попытайтесь запустить то, что вам нужно, если ошибки не будет, то это значит, что получилось, если будет, то попробуйте перезапустить пк!
Games for Windows Live (далее GMFL) – игровой сервис созданный Microsoft для операционной системы Windows и приставки Xbox. Особой популярности сервису снискать не удалось из-за сравнительно малой библиотеки игр и общей неудобности. Поскольку Microsoft формально все еще поддерживают сервис (последнее обновление было в 2011, новые игры не появлялись с 2013), некоторые пользователи до сих пор пользуются сервисом, хоть и с ограниченным функционалом (купить игры больше нельзя, лишь скачивать уже купленные). Так же, многим игрокам известна ошибка, связанная с отсутствием искомой ДЛЛ библиотеки, ведь GMFL нужен был для запуска таких популярных игр как GTA 4, Fallout 3, Dirt и Resident Evil 5. Так же следует отметить, что чаще с этой ошибкой сталкивались пользователи, предпочитающие играть в пиратские версии.
Для исправления ошибки существуют несколько способов:
- — скачать xlive dll для Windows 7/8/10 с последующим перемещением вручную в необходимую директорию.
- — скачать и установить последнюю версию Games for Windows Live полностью, поскольку нужна библиотека обязательно находится в её составе.
Используя первый способ, пользователю следует обратить внимание на разрядность своей системы, так как бывает нужный файл x32-64 бит, следовательно, для 32 или 64 разрядной версии Windows. При использовании второго способа в этом нет необходимость, поскольку библиотеки обоих версий присутствуют в инсталляторе. Стоит заметить, что первый способ рекомендуется пользователям, у кого же установлен GMFL, чтобы избежать возможных ошибок при конфликте версий программы и.т.д.
Файл xlive.dll есть также в библиотеке Games for Windows Live

Тебе бы для начала самому не помешало бы загуглить день и год смерти хатаба. Не веришь — загугли, и заодно на дату выхода игры посмотри, а потом сложи 2+2.

При запуске на полсекунды появляется окно и пропадает, игра не запускается. Проверил все варианты из фага. переустановка не помогла. Это версия битая или со мной что-то не так?

Description:
As Microsoft discontinued xlive (Games for Windows Live) in exchange for XboX Live, old games that rely on this service won’t start. FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage will shut down immediately after launch on Windows 10, unless the xlive issue is fixed. These files disables the online checks of the outdated xlive files, that’s it. Problem solved
