- To fully utilize it and configure it properly, you need to use DTS Audio Control software.
DTS Audio Control is software that allows you to configure the DTS sound settings on your PC. Many users reported this icon in the system tray, and they want to know exactly what it does.
This software is a component of certain audio drivers that come preinstalled on some PCs. In today’s guide, we’re going to take a closer look at this software and tell you everything you need to know.
What is DTS Audio Control?
Before we start, here’s a quick overview of DTS Audio Control:

How do I get DTS Audio Control on my PC?
1. Keep your drivers up to date
- Visit HP’s Drivers page.
- Select the type of PC that you use.
- Next, enter your serial number. It should be printed on your device. Alternatively, you can let the website automatically detect your device.
- Next, locate the audio driver and download it.
- Run the setup file and follow the instructions on the screen to install it.

2. Download the software manually
- Visit the DTS Unbound download page in the Microsoft Store.
- Click on the Get in Store app.
- Click on Get and wait for the application to download.

How do I get rid of DTS Audio Control?
DTS Audio Control comes as a part of audio drivers, so the only way to remove it is to uninstall your drivers. However, Windows will install them automatically, and DTS Audio Control will appear again.
However, you can remove DTS Control Panel from the system tray by doing the following:
- Press Windows key + R and enter regedit. Now press Enter.
- Navigate to the following key:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Realtek\Audio\RtkNGUI64\General
- Double-click on ShowTrayIcon DWORD and change its Value data to 0.
- Restart your PC.

None of the sp’s install the DTS control panel & none install the realtek driver only the generic windows.
Have sound but its not great & no DTS panel!!!

New used zbook 15 under warranty til 2 /2018 Product Number : F2P54UT
Audio problem

Seems to be IDT codec
Sound card IDT 92HD91BXX (111d:76e0) Rev.(00100303) ?
Realtek ver 6.0.1.7564 not installing dts
Have low audio & no audio control panel on zbook 15 G1. Not sure if its realtek or IDT.
Installed realtek driver ver 6.0.1.7564 but it fails to install a realtek driver. Does install a MS generic audio driver.
Want to get the sound control center but maybe the notebook is IDT not realtek?
I do have this under details in device mgr

Realtek 3.0..0.3 copied from zbook 15 G2 won’t install
sp78234 DTS audio will not install
sp72470 also installs generic audio hd driver
Then installed sp79841 which installs generic hd audio driver with no realtek software & no dedicated control panel
Laptop is possibly IDT audio but have not found a reputable safe source for software/driver.
Finally installed sp78198 & currently got sp78234 to install & it does not install the dts audio control panel or the realtek driver just the generic win same as the more recent sp79841 installed earlier with same results both did not provide solution.
Been trying to resolve this for 5 days!
I really want the dedicated HD audio control panel…

Unable to find the DTS Audio Control on the PC. Is that right?
I recommend you try to uninstall the audio driver and reinstalling it on the PC using the steps below.
- Right click on Start button and select Device manager.
- Expand the node that “Sound, Video and Game controllers”.
- Right-click the device entry which says Realtek, and click Uninstall.
- On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall process is complete, restart the PC.
Note With some devices, you might have to restart the system to complete the uninstall process.
The device might continue to function until the system has been restarted.
Then download the latest audio driver for the PC and install the driver and again restart the PC to check if that works.
