Boot problem and how to fix it.
If your install doesn’t boot when you set the disk to boot vista from it, its bc its an upgrade disk (as shown in the label on the disk box). You must’ve installed a version of Windows (Preferably Windows 7) and it has to be Either an Pro or Enterprise Version. Then you Load Setup.exe from the disk and you will be inside the windows installation.

Microsoft provided the OS through the retail stores. Even though there are stores online that provide legit product keys and setup files, still it is quite hard to put your trust in. Editions of Windows Vista SP2
Six different editions were released in Windows Vista. It is quite a big change as compared to Windows XP (only Home and Professional were released) and later Windows 7 Professional edition was also added.
Windows Vista Starter- in Starter, you will find it much lighter in size. As compared to other editions, this one lacks a lot of features. There is also no Windows Aero theme or Windows Media Player. You won’t find features such as DVD Maker, and Internet Explorer 7 in this edition too.
Start can run only 3 programs at a time and has a RAM limit of 1 GB only. There is also no 64-bit version too. Users with an x86 system can only run the Starter edition.
Windows Vista Home Basic- features such as Windows Firewall, Parental Controls, Security Center, and Photo Gallery are present in this edition. However; other features such as Windows Aero, Windows Movie Maker, or HD video editing tools are still not there. This edition was for basic home users with the basic need for a simple and easy OS.
Windows Vista Home Premium- in Home Premium, you will find HD TV and DVD recording features. Other amazing tools such as Windows Side Show, Windows Backup tool, and support for Phones, Tablets, Network projectors, and Touchscreen are in this edition. This edition was an improvement to Home Basic.
Windows Vista Business- the Business was deployed for small enterprises. This edition of Windows Vista includes all the basic tools an enterprise requires. Windows Vista пришла на смену XP в 2007 году. Несмотря на старания разработчиков, популярности предшественницы эта ОС не снискала.
Компания Microsoft выпустила очень интересный продукт. Полностью был изменён интерфейс: общий вид стал воздушным, плавным и прозрачным. Гамма получила логическое название Aero. При этом показатели можно было настраивать и сделать тему, удобную самому пользователю. Из эстетических нововведений была опция Flip 3D, показывающая все открытые окна в трёхмерном виде.
Ещё одной фишкой в Windows Vista стал сайдбар — небольшие анимированные иконки, отображающие нужную информацию в режиме реального времени, прямо на рабочем столе. Это часы, погоду и курсы валют. Сайдбар поддерживал общую схему и прекрасно вписывался в неё.
Разработчики Windows Vista полностью изменили технологию поиска внутри файловой системы. Поле поиска имелось почти везде, значок в виде лупы. Можно открывать поиск из стартового меню, в окне встроенного браузера Explorer, вводить данные из любого раздела файловой системы.
Разработчики Windows Vista уделили внимание и безопасности. Главным защитником данных пользователя стала функция User Account Control, помогающая защитить аккаунт от неавторизованных вторжений. Со стороны предотвращения действий вредоносных программ в тандеме с антивирусом работала технология Data Execution Prevention, запрещающая запускать личные данные. Ей помогала опция Windows Defender — штатный блокировщик рекламы и шпионских программ.
Из полезных технологий разработчики сделали родительский контроль, позволяющий ограничивать ребёнку время, проведённое в сети или играх. Можно было заблокировать доступ к определённым сайтам или поставить запреты, исходя из градации детского возраста.
Появилось распознавание голоса и управление через него наравне со стандартными устройствами ввода информации. Для увеличения производительности ПК специалисты Microsoft внедрили USB-драйв — функцию ReadyBoost. Для работы с памятью и автоматической подгрузки в неё нужных программ, ориентируясь на статистику по времени включения, сделали технологию SuperFetch.
Графика тоже перешла на новый уровень. Реалистичность в играх поддерживался DirectX10.
Windows Vista открыла новые возможности для командной работы над документами внутри одной сети — опция Windows Meeting Space. Появился встроенный скриншотер и работа через сканирование документов. Систему оснастили функцией запасного копирования, которую можно было запускать по расписанию. Через Easy Transfer пользователь легко мог перенести нужные файлы на другой компьютер. Vista работала и с мобильными устройствами на базе Windows Mobile. Для поддержки планшетов была сделана обновлённая версия с возможностью использования пера.
