Best browser for Windows 2000
Hi, I recently found an old computer with windows 2000, I decided that it will be useful for browsing the internet, but I dont know which browser to use, what would you recommend a web browser for windows 2000?

For vanilla win2000, you may use my newmoon-26.5.
If your PC has enough processing power and memory, try installing kernelex and use newmoon-28.10 for better result.

Windows 2000 is almost useless for modern web browsing. If possible, upgrade to Windows XP, then it might be usable, though still not great. I briefly had Windows 2000 on my Dell Inspiron 6400, and tried using an old build of Firefox. Couldn’t do much browsing without the computer blue-screening, if I recall. Now it has XP, with MyPal and an old version of Chrome installed, and it works much better for browsing. Of course, I pretty much only do it for fun, and stay away from dodgy sites.

There are several manuals on YouTube on how to get modern Firefox ESR versions to run. KernelEx will help you with that, albeit I never got it to work on German installations myself. But your old computer must be a powerhorse on Core2 level at least for this.
Otherwise, Opera 12.02 (Opera_1202_int_Setup.exe https://get.opera.com/pub/opera/win/1202/int/ for German/French and Opera_1202_en_Setup.exe https://get.opera.com/pub/opera/win/1202/en/ for English) works quite good and has partial HTML5 support too. You have to accept that RSA/TLS1.2 is not working there, making 80% of all websites inaccessible due to a questionable HTTP => HTTPS redirection, altough most of them don’t even serve confidential data.

Using Windows 2000 for web browsing is a bad idea, the latest Firefox that is supported here and can be installed without problem is version 10-12 as far as I remember … If you want to install newer versions of firefox you can install Windows 2000 Compatibility mod . I remember trying to install firefox 42 on this system and … it worked, but version 52 worked better, but not on Windows 2000 
so if you want try to use newer versions of firefox with the Windows 2000 compatibility mod. I’m attaching video explaing this mode here.

I recommend MyPal as it supports Modern Websites, This browser only supports XP or above but it will work properly on Windows 2000 if you install something called «Windows 2000 Extended Kernel»
And also, Your processor MUST Support something called SSE2 If you want to install MyPal
I’m currently replying this comment on MyPal on Windows 2000 Advanced Server, MyPal Works very well with Windows 2000 if you have Windows 2000 Extended Kernel Installed, Almost every websites work perfectly!

Firefox Build 59.9.0ESR Work Pretty Well As Long As You Install The Extended Kernel And All Pre-Requisite Updates For It Ive Even Run Quite A Few Modern Websites On It Without Issue (And A Little Bit Of Patching Up) It Work Well On Such An Old OS I Definitely Reccomend It For Browsing
