Hi all

I decided to enroll in this community to get some tips and reviews the problems I am experiencing with this laptop. I own an Acer Aspire ES1-111 I bought a week ago.

Since its first configuration, I noticed problems using it with windows 8.1 (its native operating system). For example, touchpad or keyboard not working not properly and, especially, shutdown problems. In this case specific I could never stop the device correctly, because he remained with the power indicator which continued into ‘works’ although it seems that the system is freezed was arrested. However, in order to really stop I had to press the power button / stop.

First of all, I decided to reset the system with built-in software eRecovery but problems remain.

Secondly, I decided to do a clean install of the operating system and I tried the two Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. In both cases, installation process complete without problems, but when you try to install all the drivers, I experienced freezes and once again the shutdown problems. I followed an order to install drivers (Chipset first, only VGA, etc), but in most cases, I had problems of supra. I also tried to disable «Fast start (recommended) turn» without success. 

But now comes the strange part.

I finally decided to give it a try for Windows 7 and, to my surprise, everything works fine! I was able to install the drivers correctly and to stop or restart my laptop without a problem. Now I use Windows 7, but, as it is under warranty, I would ask you what you think of this questions.

I find it quite strange that a laptop does not properly with its native operating system but it is very good with an older operating system! Do you think I should send to Acer support or ask to change it (although, I don’t know if I’m still able to pursue this second option).

I think I found the reason why I was unable to run Windows 8.1 smoothly after a new installation. I tried to install it during the configuration of the Bios in LEGACY mode, which is good for the BONES before Windows 8 (like Windows 7, as it was working perfectly) but not for Windows 8/8.1 as it probably some issue when install drivers etc.

So I decided to reset the Bios original UEFI mode. It was the right decision. Not only touchpad was recognized well when loading the USB bootable (expecially since the Touchpad has been on «Advanced», which in legacy mode, would not work), but also because, when the operating system installation process has been completed, I was able to install all the drivers hardware properly and stop/restart of operations fully worked without problems / freezes and so on.

Hope this information is useful for other users.

Acer aspire es1-131 display driver for windows 8.1 32-bit

Downgrade my acer aspire es1-131 10 64-bit for windows 8.1 32-bit windows, but the acer display driver is only for 8.1 64-bit windows. There’s the 32-bit driver for graphics card? TIA

no need to buy windows 8.1 64 bits, your product key works for 64 bit also.

Make the drive from USB recovery Acer before do you so you can return the laptop to factory State. You will need to do a clean install of win 8 or 8.1 and you lose the recovery partitions and all the stuff of Acer.

Having big problems with Win 10? It’s just 8 improved Windows.

If it runs 8.1 iy should work 8, but you could have driver problems.

What is the problem with 8.1?

I have an acer aspire es1-511-c665 laptop with windows 8.1 on the right side of the laptop has a cover of the device that will fake CD cd/dvd drive Bay.  can I remove this cover and open the acer to install a reader of cd/dvd internal of my toshiba satlight lap top which has windows vista and if I can install the toshiba player what other equipment or drivers will be I need to do.

Hello, user of instant messaging of Acer Aspire ES1-331. I’ve used it since February 2016 with Windows 8.1

Don’t know why it happened, but you can try the rotation system to a job previously set up. Try the steps to do this back in http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37096/~/windows-10%3A-restore-windows-from-a-restor…. If Windows updates run before what happens something could have installed that caused this. Restaurant back like this should solve the problem.

Acer Aspire es1 512 — Win 8.1 bing Win10 failed to upgrade now the code error 0xc000000f

Acer Aspire es1 512 about 8 months old… unfortunately was running that bloody Win 8.1 with Bing oem

Started slower and slower start for no apparent reason… (+ 10 mins to start)

Tried restoring win 8.1,repairreset palarvour and he just constantly stuck on auto repair, do nothing.

Tried to upgrade to win 10 (the one where I’d install clean drive)… got so far and then projected black.

Now when it boots up, I get the screen where it says that the image below

Just a quick update, so I’m not leaving this hanging.

Scan found 100, in thousands of errors.

During the next startup the laptop told me that there is no bootable operating system.

The hard drive was dead as a dodo so he sent to Acer via UPS.

They said that the hard drive was indeed defective and replaced the hard drive and sent it to me

within 5 days under the 1 year warranty.

Turn on the computer laptop and relocation of the stuff, I was immediately greeted with a «this laptop.

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5542.  It came with Windows 7, and had MyWinLocker Yo-Safe pre-installed.  Since I upgraded to Windows 10 MyWinLocker Yo-Safe will not open.  After I entered my password in the window of MyWinLocker Yo-Safe he said Yo-Safe is open in a small window pop up at the bottom right of the screen, but Yo-Safe will appear in the window of this PC, and the overview of the tray icon still says it is closed.

I found the answer: open an administrator command prompt and then type in: sc mwlservice start

The Recovery Manager starts well. He correctly completed the following steps:
1 format HDD

2. copy the files from the CD to the drive. It copies all the 3 CD.

Then he ask the driver (the 4th CD) CD. Once I have this CD, then after awhile I get messge below:

In most cases, recover the hard disk will solve your problems.

If your problem persists, you may have to contact HP support. Find details of support HO in the documentation of your PC.

After that I see above meaage the only button I can click is «Finish». Once I click on finish, then in a minute, I get a message that «recovery completed successfully.

The laptop restarts and displays the message on the screen «Bootmger» not found

I called HP support and asked to run the hard drive and memory test and he succeeded.

I can install windows on another CD I have with.

But I can’t install WIndows using the recovery CD, I received from HP. It’s the 2nd CD series that I received these don’t work or the other.

I have two identical laptops. Tried installing on both and having the same problem on both.

Can you please help with this.

Here is another solution, you can try to see if you can get Windows 7 to install correctly.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC — just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD — a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

As much as I know, only Windows Update cannot be run in safe mode. That being said, I saw where install several updates may conflict with each other. Try to disable all updates installation and install the updates failed one at a time.

You must download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You should find it on the page of the Toshiba driver or the Intel Web site.

ThinkPad R60 cannot install Windows XP After erasing the HARD drive using the lenovo diagnostic utility

WinXP pro Setup cannot find that any installed HARD disk so cannot install windows. Unfortunately after many attempts to use rescue and recovery to restore the factory settings and for some reason constantly default… After leaving another utility popped up giving me the opportunity to erase the HARD drive and so I did… After fact as well and all I had was a blank screen, no windows more or no matter what utility to reinstall windows, then I used my winxp pro installation CD, but the program installation would continue not after a certain point by saying that the installation did not find any HARD disk installed. followed by «ensure that any disk HARD r turned on and correctly connected, and that no matter what material associated drive configured correctly, this may involve running a manufacturer provided diagnostic or Setup program. Clearly it took me by surprise. What was supposed to be a cut to white erase and reinstall now me baffled and angry. Formats the HDD of the solution? If so why didn’t not the usefulness of lenovo do… If not, what is the problem? Someone help pls

Go into the BIOS (F1 at startup), set the «compatible» SATA mode (NO AHCI), then press F10 to save and exit, and you should be all set.

I see that you have a problem in the installation of new Windows USB port. It seems that your HDD was not detected, right? It’s because your laptop uses a SATA HDD.

what you need to do are:

1. download the driver AHCI SATA website of intel. (just google it)

2. copy the files (size 700 KB for 6 files) into the new USB

3. reboot and install your laptop with win 7 (dvd/usb)

4. by the time win 7 installation reached the drive to install (none detected), click load drivers.

5. now load your other USB SATA drivers.

6. then will show all disks in your system.

7. continue with the installation process.

Error code: 80246007 (cannot install Windows Live Essentials 2011)

I don’tseem able to install updates automatic, quest is my wide ban and they switched to norton antiviris of a care of windows live, had problems since I went.  Cannot install windows live essentials completely, still the same code error 80246007.

I already changed the setting in «bits» to allow updates to day and downloads by following the instructions in the help, no change can not load low HP Essentials * msi.
